As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     Die! Die! My Darling!
1965  NR  SUSPENSE  1h 37min
CAST— Tallulah Bankhead, Stefanie Powers, Peter Vaughan, Donald Sutherland, Yootha Joyce
MUSIC— Wilfred Josephs  DIRECTOR— Silvio Narizzano  BASED ON— Nightmare (novel), by Anne Blaisdell

Another reason not to trust the in-laws. Stefanie Powers plays a woman who has recently lost her fiancée in an automobile accident. When she visits his mother to offer her condolences things take an unexpected turn. As it turns out, Mommy is a gun-toting, Bible-thumping, holier-than-thou maniac who worshiped the ground her son walked on. She feels that this young woman must vindicate her son’s memory, and to do so she must be held captive in the attic and tormented by Mother dear and her hired help. Obviously shot on a shoestring budget, the film is surprisingly entertaining, but don’t expect to see this mentioned on any top-ten lists. AKA: Fanatic.
OUR RATING— **
