As lovable losers go this one takes the cake… or the drink, that is. Dudley Moore is Arthur, a millionaire with plenty of time on his hands. He spends that time sucking down booze at a crippling rate, telling jokes at blistering speed. Still a kid at heart, his family has tired of his drunken immaturity. They arrange for him to marry an heiress and live according to their plan, otherwise he’ll be cut off. Just as he agrees to marry he meets a penniless waitress with a heart of gold. As they begin a whirlwind romance Arthur must make a choice: love or wealth. Charming and funny, with wonderful supporting characters, this one is sure to please even the inanely inebriated. Oscar-winner for Best Supporting Actor (John Gielgud), Best Original Song (Arthur’s Theme (Best that You Can Do), by Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, Christopher Cross and Peter Allen).
