As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

How about a trip to the mall? But watch your step; your local shopping center may be patrolled by a Segwey PT cruisin’, ticket writing security guard (or is it “officer”?) by the likes of Paul Blart. Kevin James plays the title character in this wacky family comedy that should appeal to the mallrat in all of us. Paul Blart is your average security guard: state trooper training facility flunky, slightly doughy around the midsection, and a raging hypoglycemic. His days are spent rolling through the mall passing out citations to speeding shoppers and wooing kiosk operator Jayma Mays. But when a team of robbers lay siege to his mall Blart takes matters into his own hands. Yet how will he handle the news that hostages are part of the equation, including his lady love and his own daughter? Find out as you gather the fam for this foray into the funny.
