     Daddy’s Home
2015  PG-13  COMEDY 1h 35min
CAST— Will Farrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini
MUSIC— Michael Andrews  DIRECTOR— Sean Anders

Pointless, tasteless excuse for Will Farrell to spout his nonsense and Mark Wahlberg to flex his muscles. Farrell is at home being daddy (well, technically step daddy, but who’s counting?), and he’s good at it, too. He’s certainly much better at the job than the kids’ absentee biological father (Wahlberg)… or is he? Farrell shall soon see. For some reason Wahlberg is coming to call, and he has nefarious plans to shake things up. His goal is to win back the family he’s forsaken, by hook or by crook, and pity the fool who gets in the way. Farrell, in other words. Despite everything the “cool dad” schemes the ever browbeaten and dependable step takes steps to keep his family from falling apart. And then a loser repairman gets thrown into the mix, for some odd reason. As if this film wasn’t bad enough. The lowbrow humor and nonexistent heartfelt sentiment clash to produce nothing more than an excuse for the industry to make a quick buck on two stars that, frankly, have more to offer than this drivel. Avoid.
