     The Magician
1926  NR  HORROR  1h 23min
CAST— Alice Terry, Paul Wegener
MUSIC— Silent  DIRECTOR— Rex Ingram  BASED ON— The Magician (novel), by W. Somerset Maugham

Silent melodrama featuring scenes of varying genres, the foremost being horror and science fiction. A mad hypnotist/magician finds an ancient formula for creating life by magical means. Of course the recipe calls for the blood of an innocent woman. So the magician is now on a mission to lure a young woman into his vile clutches. A fine suspense yarn, if you’re into silents. Other viewers shouldn’t expect to be kept on the edge of their seats.
