As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

Constant gunplay is the name of the game in this slightly subdued sequel. It seems that Omni Consumer Products (OCP) has a new squad of cops on the job, their main objective to evict millions of Detroit’s citizens so as to pave the way for a city of the future. A growing rebellion of displaced, heavily armed civilians oppose this new regime, leading to violence and riots on the city streets. And who should join this motley group but the original face of OCP, Robocop himself, bent on avenging his longtime partner’s murder. But it won’t be easy; not only do the rebels face OCP officers, they also contend with punk gang members and robotic ninjas (and one wonders how this film was overlooked during Oscar season). Never reaches the depths of sleaziness that Robocop 2 (1990) displayed, but then again few films do outside of Quentin Tarantino territory. Nevertheless this is an eye rolling experience that miserably fails to impress. Take it or… on second thought, just leave it.
OUR RATING— *
