As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

Pretty good men behind bars tale, complete with high drama and tension aplenty. When a green young man is sent to prison for manslaughter his first cellmates turn out to be a former thief and a rather likable gunman, two hardened vets of the prison system. Here the story veers from telling the tale of the new fish into telling of the escape of his cellmate, the former thief. He vows to go straight… if only he can make a clean break. He winds up back in the pen, just in time for the story to take another turn, this time showing how the gunman starts an uprising that results in fifty dead men within the confines of the prison walls. Entertaining, though coherency is not an attribute. Oscar-winner for Best Writing, Best Sound Recording.
OUR RATING— ** ½
