As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     Ice Age
2002  PG  ANIMATED  1h 21min
CAST— Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary
MUSIC— David Newman  DIRECTOR— Chris Wedge

Cool down with three unwitting pals on a most unusual adventure. When a prehistoric sloth joins forces with an unwilling woolly mammoth, both social outcasts, things seem a little bizarre. But their problems have only just begun. They soon begin a rescue mission to return a human infant to his tribe, whatever the cost. Things seem to heat up when they meet up with a saber-tooth tiger with a gleam in his eye. Be he friend or foe? As they traverse the harsh terrain the weather turns foul and their friendship is tested. A fine blend of sharp animation and clear vocals add quality to this so-so feature that the kids are sure to gobble up.
OUR RATING— ** ½
