     The Dark Knight
2008  PG-13  ACTION  2h 32min
CAST— Christian Bale, Heath Ledger
MUSIC— Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard  DIRECTOR— Christopher Nolan  BASED ON— Characters appearing in DC Comics

Batman began. Now he continues to protect the citizens of Gotham by donning cape and cowl and meting out justice where justice is due. Christian Bale returns as the Dark Knight in this highly anticipated box office smash that pits him against the Clown Prince of Crime himself. The Joker, a psychopathic anarchist, is spreading terror throughout Gotham City. Meanwhile, upstart district attorney Harvey Dent campaigns to rid the city of its criminal element, with the help of Batman. Batman, as Bruce Wayne, still pines for assistant D. A. Rachel Dawes, who has fallen for Dent. But Batman can’t let this get in the way of bringing the pain to the Joker and his mobster cronies. Explosive, in-your-face action that puts prior efforts to shame. Heath Ledger, in his final role, puts a frightening, sinister spin on his portrayal of the twisted Joker. An intense, visceral experience that combines action and horror to great effect. Enjoy. Oscar-winner for Best Supporting Actor (Ledger, posthumous), Best Sound Editing.
