If ever a film demanded multiple viewings this is it. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as a thief who enters one’s dreams and extracts information. But when the head of a major corporation hires him to carry out a little corporate espionage a new game is afoot; DiCaprio’s task is not to steal info but to plant an idea into the mind of a competitor, an idea that may put DiCaprio’s employer at the top of his game. DiCaprio must assemble a reliable team if he’s gonna pull this one off. But the specter of a lost love threatens the entire operation, and the sanity of each team member hangs in the balance. Barely coherent yet tremendously compelling science fiction is a thought provoking blend of action film and psychological thriller, with several earnest performances from an all-star cast. A headache-inducing winner. Oscar-winner for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Visual Effects.
OUR RATING— ***
