As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     Incident at Loch Ness
2004  PG-13  COMEDY  1h 34min
CAST— Werner Herzog
MUSIC— Henning Lohner, Lorne Balfe  DIRECTOR— Zak Penn

A serio-comic mockumentary focusing on an expedition to explore humanity’s obsession with the creature of the Loch. Acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog sets out to film a documentary entitled Enigma of Loch Ness, produced by Zak Penn. During production an entirely separate film crew is underfoot, filming a doc on Herzog entitled Herzog in Wonderland. Which film the audience is watching is often unclear. Anyway, as Herzog continues to shoot a serious documentary, Penn is filming a campy monster movie with Herzog’s crew. What’s going on here? Is this a hoax? If so, whose leg is being pulled? An oddly compelling, entertaining blend of confused chuckles await those in the mood for something a bit different. A real surprise.
OUR RATING— ** ½
