As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     House of Dracula
1945  NR  HORROR  1h 7min
CAST— Lon Chaney, Jr., Martha O’Driscoll, John Carradine, Lionel Atwill
MUSIC— William Lava  DIRECTOR— Erle C. Kenton

Another monster mash that’s pure B-grade fodder. A skinny, mustachioed Dracula claims he wants a medical cure for what ails him, but for some reason taints his doctor’s blood, resulting in bouts of madness for the doc. Larry Talbot, sporting his own ‘stache, is also hanging around seeking a cure for his ills. Oh, and they find Frankenstein’s monster in a cave, so naturally the mad doctor is compelled to awaken him and increase his strength. There’s also something about mold spores and a hunchback nurse, but who really cares at this point?
