Just when you thought it was safe to go back to SeaWorld... The Jaws series continues in this threequel (3-D-quel?) featuring '80s fashion, bloody water and perhaps the worst 3D effects ever filmed. The sons of Amity's police chief are now grown, the oldest a technician at SeaWorld Orlando. He's dating the park's chief marine biologist and things are going swimmingly, that is until a great white shark wanders in through an underwater gate and begins to threaten the attractions at the park. The staff are able to capture the shark and a collective sigh is heard from all. But it's soon realized that this seemingly full-grown shark is actually a newborn; the mama is still loose, and she is one big mother. When she rears her ugly fin terror in the park kicks into overdrive, as she begins to devour anything in her way, including divers, water skiers and opportunistic, grenade-wielding photographers. Though the obvious choice of weapon against such horror would probably be bat-shark repellent, that solution must have been overlooked. Another thing that was overlooked was quality; in addition to the film being a shark-happy rip off of Revenge of the Creature (1955), the movie features hilariously terrible 3D effects that are obvious to the point of being distracting. The real stars of the show, however, are Cindy and Sandy, two dolphins whose performances and heroics are better than pretty much any of the silliness going on here. AKA Jaws 3, Jaws III.
