As Seen On Screen

As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     Jurassic Park III
2001  PG-13  SCIENCE FICTION  1h 32min
CAST— Sam Neill, William H. Macy, Tea Leoni, Alessandro Nivola, Trevor Morgan, Michael Jeter
MUSIC— Don Davis  DIRECTOR— Joe Johnston

Third in the series, least of the series. This time out, a husband and wife con Dr. Alan Grant into going to another dino-infested island, InGen’s Site B (as seen in The Lost World: Jurassic Park [1997]). As things turn out, they need him to help them look for their missing son, who was parasailing near the island. And was never heard from again. Yeah, a bit melodramatic, sorry. Moving on. Now they face a few problems finding the boy, and after they find him, they face a few more. Film tries to give us all it can, but it just can’t stand up to the first two. Shorter length, a new director, inferior sound, and “better” dinosaur effects all make this one suffer. Okay as part of the series, but it should have been more.
OUR RATING— **
PRECEDED BY— Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
FOLLOWED BY— Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
