     Mr. Bean’s Holiday
2007  G  COMEDY  1h 25min
CAST— Rowan Atkinson, Emma De Caunes, Willem Dafoe
MUSIC— Howard Goodall  DIRECTOR— Steve Bendlack  BASED ON— Characters appearing on Mr. Bean (television)

That mumbling master of disaster is back for more madcap misadventure. Mr. Bean has won a trip to the French Riviera which he eagerly anticipates. With his trusty camcorder in hand he’s off on his journey; but when do these things ever go as planned? He meets up with a young boy stranded without his famous director father, a young actress who’s desperate to get to the Cannes Film Festival and a self indulgent film director whose idea of moving entertainment is himself. But Bean had better watch his step: the authorities believe Bean and his lady friend to have kidnapped the boy and a manhunt is underway. Now who could look at that rubbery face and think anything but warm and fuzzies? A film that falls under the goofy category in any reference guide. One drawback: too many extreme close-ups of the Bean. One highlight: a film by Carson Clay. Moving stuff.
OUR RATING— **
PRECEDED BY— Bean (1997)
