Exceptional Western from the Duke. Richard Boone plays the leader of a band of marauders who lay waste to the ranch run by wealthy Maureen O’Hara, John Wayne’s estranged wife. Boone and company kidnap O’Hara and Wayne’s grandson, whom they ransom for $1,000,000. O’Hara sends for Wayne, a tough as nails drifter whom she hasn’t laid eyes on in ten years; only he would have the guts to carry out the mission set before them. Off he heads with his now grown sons, Patrick Wayne (Wayne’s son) and Chris Mitchum, an age old friend and his dog, Dog, on an action-packed, thrill-a-minute rescue mission. Thoroughly entertaining, classic Western buffs take notice!
OUR RATING— *** ½
