This imaginative continuation of the Peter Pan legend breathes new life into the people and places of the much beloved world of Never-Neverland. What’s this? Peter Pan has grown up? And he has children? That’s right, Peter Pan has left Neverland and started a family. But that’s not all; Peter has forgotten all about his past, all memories of Neverland are gone. Now he’s Peter Banning, a money-hungry corporate attorney, following everything by an agenda (something his former self would never do). Suddenly his world turns dark when his children are kidnapped by a mysterious stranger calling himself Captain James Hook. Peter is now told his true identity, that of the character Peter Pan in the stories by J. M. Barrie. To his shock he is taken to Neverland to rescue his children. But first he must remember how to be Peter Pan again, then face the formidable Capt. Hook. The film gets a tremendous boost by top-notch performances all around, and check out that beautiful set-design; where the film falls flat is in the juvenile, often childish humor, plus the fact that it takes a bit too long for the film to pick up any speed. Then again, when you get Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman together, you really shouldn’t complain.
