Did You Hear About the Morgans?
2009  PG-13  COMEDY  1h 43min
CAST— Hugh Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary Steenburgen, Sam Elliot, Michael Kelly, Elisabeth Moss, Jesse Liebman, Dana Ivey, Wilfred Brimley, Beth Fowler, Seth Gilliam
MUSIC— Theodore Shapiro  DIRECTOR— Marc Lawrence

The Morgans have issues. He cheated on her, she cheated on him, they’ve separated, they’ve witnessed a murder. The methodical killer is now after them and he’ll stop at nothing to silence them. Thus, the Morgans have now been placed under protective custody; the plan is to place them in the Witness Relocation Program. Off they’re whisked to The Middle of Nowhere, Wyoming to hide out until they can turn state’s evidence. But here’s the catch: they must live together; well, under the same roof, at least. Will their problems spiral out of control or will this newfound peril bring them closer than before? A typical fish-out-of-water tale that tries and tries but never seems to go anywhere. A likable performance by Hugh Grant is the only saving grace in this somewhat hollow film.
OUR RATING— **
