As Seen on Screen offers readers a chance to see film reviews for the everyman, without all of the clutter and nonsense fed to the average filmgoer. Plain, straitforward, to the point. That's our goal. We offer a diverse catalogue of which to choose from, from silent comedies to modern superhero films. Final note: this is a family friendly blog. We only review films rated G through PG-13, plus the unrated films of yesteryear. So if this sounds like your cup of tea, pull up a crumpet and enjoy. Thanks for your support!

     Muppets Most Wanted
2014  PG  COMEDY  1h 47min
CAST— Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey
MUSIC— Christophe Beck  DIRECTOR— James Bobin

After the success of The Muppets (2011) the gang decides to go for a sequel. It seems that Kermit has an evil twin. Meet Constantine, the world’s most dangerous frog. After escaping from a Siberian gulag he assigns his number two man the task of gaining the Muppets’ trust. This he does by suggesting to the Muppets a comeback world tour. Constantine then assumes the identity of Kermit, who’s been whisked away to the gulag Constantine escaped from. Once he’s infiltrated the Muppets Constantine and his lackey set in motion a plan to steal the Crown Jewels of England. Not exactly an original premise, with neither memorable cameos nor laugh out loud comedy. Watchable, but when the human stars steal the show (Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, etc.) it may be time for a massive Muppet makeover.
OUR RATING— ** ½
PRECEDED BY— The Muppets (2011)
